Don't read the comment section from that story unless you want to scream at your monitor...

Ha! I was going to same the same thing. I'm sick of people talking about peoples weight and how " unhealthy" it is and saying that berating a person, making them feel humiliated is actually a good thing for them cause that will make them loose weight. Yeah...as if it were all that simple. And all the comments were on women's bodies etc. Apparently women only come in one size and shape to be considered attractive? These people really need to get over themselves and stop putting down others to make themselves feel better. As for the asshole bouncers and Manager...wtf do they think the club is?? Studio 54 of Jersey? I hope the women sue their butts off!!

While the whole situation pisses me off, the comments piss me off more than anything else.

Oh, God, I wish I could wake up one day and all the assholes and haters and cruelty of the world would be obliterated. The stupidity, the smugness, the conceit, the complacency, the malice.

Do you all remember the item posted to the main blog a few weeks ago in which a Boston Herald columnist endorsed "public shaming" of pregnant teens as an effective strategy for preventing other teen pregnancy in others?

::Slipping back into my delirium to rant further about humans' astonishingly low capacity for empathy and decency::

I can't believe that! That is so mean. I have been to clubs where people were not let in because they did not meet the dress code. But because of weight??? I read those comments and the idiots who supported that don't respect women in general. This day and age, it does not surprise me. Seems like more people are overtly rude to others who don't meet "the standards". What's next, not being allowed in a club because I don't have the Playboyesque body and look like a porn star??? I hope those girls who were turned away sue. Disgusting and stupid.

So sad! :(

I agree that almost worse than the story are the comments. Being out of Junior High School and living in civilized society as a fat woman, I rarely encounter such sickening hatred, sexism and ignorance anymore. I have never seen more deplorable talk about a group of people. And the worst part is that it's still acceptable in this day and age to talk that way about fat people because we "deserve it." Why do people reserve the most toxic sentiments for fat people? Does our fat offend them? Does it cause them harm or distress? Get over it BABIES! I'm fat and I'm not going anywhere!!!

Hey! I'm new to this community. Beauty is in the eye of the holder. As long as people are healthy, who cares what size they are? The media has programmed too many of us to think that if we are not a size 0 we're "fat." I really celebrate women that celebrate themselves. I wish more of us would do that. Check out this short film by a woman celebrating herself - Allie Raye. She is hysterical: http://www.eyesoda.com/film/79.
