The Graduate Assistant for the Women's Center is a paraprofessional position on the Student Development team and reports to the Coordinator of the Women's Center. The Graduate Assistant will have primary responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Center, assisting the Coordinator with the supervision and training of staff, the organization of all events, as well as presentations on responsible intimacy, body image, gender issues, and healthy relationships. The Graduate Assistant will work 25 hours/week plus limited evening and weekend event supervision.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required (evidence of degree must be presented). Applicant must be enrolled in a graduate-level program. Preferred candidates should have knowledge of Women's Studies, gender and sexuality issues, experience working with a diverse student body, and event planning experience.
Compensation:
1. Employment runs from August 2008 to June 2009
2. On-campus apartment shared with 3 other graduate assistants (mixed gender possible)
3. Yearly stipend of $9,200
4. Tuition remission up to $8000 per academic year to a local institution's graduate program
5. $950 in Ramapo Bucks (used in dining facilities and C-Store)
6. Local telephone service
7. Cable television connection
8. Internet access
