Cookie Jar: Sexist?

I saw this video on MTV and thought the song was a bit sexist. Hell, the part in the middle with the different "flavors" struck me as being down-right racist. The song is Cookie Jar by Gym Class Heroes. I know there was talk of Katy Perry's song being offensive though I didn't think it was that bad; I think her boyfriend in Gym Class Heroes has something much worse

Am I overreacting here or do you guys see what I'm talking about?

yeah. i heard that song on the fall out boy mix "tape" they were offering on their website. id have to go back and really listen to it to determine if it was sexist, but it definitely was crass and unsubtle and for those reasons, i skip over it every time.

I put in the video and it showed up on the preview. You should be able to see the video on the post!

I think it IS sexist and rascist, in the same way as "Finding Out True Love Is Blind" by Louis XIV is. I suppose some might say they are "equal opportunity lovers" or some crap, but the truth is they use racially offensive language and womanizing sentiments. (Lyrics for Louis XIV here: http://www.lyricstop.com/f/findingouttrueloveisblind-louisxiv.html)

At first I just found it crass and mostly just talking about their love for sex. I didn't really find it that bad UNTIL they got to the flavors. That was really obnoxious. For those who haven't viewed the video it's 2 minutes in and there's a line of women with sashes like a beauty pageant in bikinis. They are labeled Italian, oreo (kinda racist), Puerto Rican, ect. I thought getting it all over his face was kinda funny at first because most pop culture stuff is about bjs, not going down on women. But then they had to have women stand in a line as a variety of flavors for them to sample. Kinda gross.

I haven't seen the video, but I saw them on Conan the other night, and they played that song. I think the lyrics go over the top a bit. They're comparing women to cookies. Maybe I'm not too outraged because I love Gym Class Heroes.

oooooooooook. So i checked out the lyrics, and tried my darndest to see the sexism. Now, i can understand someone seeing it as objectifying women, but that is not what the song is about. the writer is cleverly using cookies in place of, well....dare i say it? vagina!
He is not saying he is a pig, or sexist, but he has an addiction to women. All different kinds of. Brilliant! It is a modern day "puff the magic dragon, or "mr. Tambourine man". Had the words "cookie jar" been replaced with something more vugar? Then not only would we have some people here up in arm, but parents across the nation would be calling them the gym class villans (pending trademark). Go check out the lyrics, and see it as playfull. Crumbs in the bed? that was a nice touch....

if after you still are offended, bring it back and lets kick the dust up a bit :)
