As much as I believe in the rights of every woman, I can not fathom why someone who claims to be as strong as Eve Ensler would be so completely intimidated by Sarah Palin. All of the feminists who are running around like the proverbial chickens to stop and recognize the damage that they are doing to women as a whole. Sarah Palin is strong, eloquent, self-assured, powerful and a pioneer in the women's rights movement. How can we assume that we will get ahead if we hide behind pants suit wearing lesbians like Hilary Clinton? Wake up and realize that you are simply threatened. We have fought so long and so hard to get to where we are and now all of those who have been at the front of the movement are running to bury their heads in the sand. Pathetic and disgraceful. The lengthy diatribes posted here to bash Sarah make me realize that we will never get ahead until strong women (like Palin) shout over your stupidity and fright.

i'm not sure you actually read the article if you think eve ensler is intimidated by palin.
there's a difference between recognizing your fears and calling to action(which is what eve does) and being intimidated and doing nothing.
if you're confused about eve ensler and her taking action, you might want to do some research. i guarantee she's fought more for women's rights and safety than Palin could fathom.
Palin is no pioneer in the women's rights movement. Palin doesn't care about the women's rights movement and she's no feminist by far.
I don't see any feminists burying their heads in the sand. i see them getting the word out and encouraging change.

I don't understand why Sarah Palin gets such media attention for being a "feminist." Is she a powerful woman? Well, sure. But does she stand up for women's rights? No. Did she get to her powerful position by virtue of hard work and qualification? No. How is she a feminist? She is not. A powerful woman does not a feminist make.

If your only argument for her being a feminist is that she succeeded in the arena of politics, then your argument is weak at best. So Sarah Palin benefited from what feminists have been fighting for for decades, and then she is trying to use the power our work has granted her to make matters worst for the everyday women out there? Yeah, you're right, Ria, she is pioneer for the women's movement. She's moving it backward.
