Rep. John LaBruzzo of Metairie, LA has proposed some not-so-revolutionary legislation aimed at lessening the number of people in poverty. I do have to say that it's been a while since I've heard anyone adopt this argument, but legislators in the area have a great legacy of acting and thinking like complete sexist/hypocritical/delusional/insert negative adjective idiots.
