Neither Senator Obama or Senator McCain have made public statements supporting, or even acknowledging the importance of global women’s health.

Every minute, somewhere in the world a woman dies from complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Worldwide, 200 million women want but can’t get modern contraception.

The U.S. should be a leader in these efforts.

The conventions are over and the parties are reeling with energy.  What better time let the candidates know that Americans actually care about these issues.

Americans for UNFPA is asking them to pledge that as President they will reverse Bush's policy of neglect for global women's health and rights.
