This is excellent. I certainly consider myself progressive and if my partner of 6 years and i do ever decide to get officially "married" i hope to be able to overcome the hype and plan something as fabulously rebellious. I don't know if i'd be able to not accept any gifts at all though, i think if it's "stuff" the couples doesn't want (and i totally hear that) they should encourage guests to donate to causes instead, this way they don't get crap, the guests still feel like they've given a gift, and the organization/people benefit :) Thanks for the link, LOVED the story! :)
