Is everyone else here bewildered by the fact that this is the second time the Republicans have made the mistake of vag=vag replacement?

Harriett Miers !=  Sandra Day O'Conner just like Sarah Pallin != Hillary Clinton.  Which is more sinister I wonder?  Well on one hand Palin is anti-contraception * , pro forced pregnancy, inexperienced, ruthless, possibly a criminal, and an outright liar .  On the other the supreme court is a life time appointment, Miers was a tad inept, clearly more partisan than thou, inexperienced, possibly smoke screen, and definitely a shady player.  Either way it both saddens and heartens me to know that Gloria Steinem has made basically the same comment on both women--feminism has come far in that we do not feel the need to simply vote for a woman just because she has a vagina, but that we look to the issues to decide our decision.  If only the Republicans would learn that same lesson. 

*I assert that as Palin has repeatedly and eagerly connected her name to FFL and is extremely far right in her thinking esp. about abortion (she thinks there should be no exemptions, not even for rape ) that in all likely hood she also agrees with their list of abortifacients.
