I've got my dander up. Way. Way up.
I know I'm a white(ish) person who has never been randomly followed or searched in a store because of the color of my skin. I've never been pulled over for driving-while-black. I've never experienced a lot of the things that those with darker skin than mine have experienced, but I still get really fucking pissed off when I hear about it happening or see it on the goddamn news.
This week, not only has Senator, and I use the term very loosely, called Barack Obama "that one" (Southern code for the n-word, or so I hear), but there are fuckers out there actually galling to call Senator Obama a "fucking n****r", "terrorist", "Arab", telling him to "go home" (to Africa? to Arabia?), whatever, all because the John McCain campaign has whipped up the frenzy of racism so that he might try one last-ditch effort to get his sorry, racist, classist, misogynistic, homophobic, cowardly ass elected. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Sure, John, you can have the KKK vote, but the more you go down this line, the more you're just going to be left with the asshole who got arrested for threatening an election official with a gun because he needed his voter registration card so he could "keep the n****r out of office".
Sooner or later, you're gonna be left with that guy and Sarah Palin. Cindy won't even be voting for you, Grampy.
Okay, racism is fucking stupid. Any judgment based on what demographics a person fits into (note: racist is not a demographic) is fucking stupid. Not only that, but when the Republican nominee for the Presidency calls his opponent "that one", when he would NEVER address "that one"s running mate (an older white man) in such a manner is a fucking disgrace!
Fuck you racists. You can have your white utopia. I don't want to have anything to do with it. I have more in common with the people you address only in racial epithets than I do with you -- and not only because the IQ of every racist put together does not math my own, let alone Barack Obama's.
Look, Barack Obama doesn't speak for all black people and I think black people would be offended if it were assumed he did. Barack Obama speaks for Americans. Americans have chosen him as the Democratic Nominee because we agree with what he has to say and he, like us, cannot be pigeon-holed because of his skin color, upbringing, education, or anything else. The thing you racist fucks have got to face is that this highly qualified man is going to be the next president of the United States of America and if you can't handle that, well, you can get out. (Oh? Did you think it was only okay for you to say that to me when I protested the Iraq War? Nope.)
I'm not voting for the black guy: I'm voting for the guy with the judgment, integrity, temperament, and intelligence necessary to lead this country effectively. And yes, he happens to be half black and half white. Big fucking deal. Last time I checked, the color of someone's skin does not impact the content of their character.
Fuck you racists. You're a disgrace on this nation -- and the world. Grow the fuck up.

I agree that McCain addressing Obama in such a manner is absolutely uncalled for. Who is he to judge his competition based on the color of his skin? To throw out racial remarks to someone who is, just like him, trying to better our country, is childish and an absolute disgrace. I totally second that Obama is speaking for Americans, not just a specific race or group of people. He is trying to make our country a better place and should not be discriminated against by anyone, let alone the man is he running against in this race for Presidency, because of the color of his skin or where he comes from.
I love how all these American's seem only just to have become aware of the existence of racism. Obama isnt the first ever black man and people not liking him for being black aren't the first racists. I found the energetic outrage in this article really amuisng, like you couldn't wait to break the news that some people are racist! If in a few years time there is a presidential candidate in a wheelchair I wonder how many people will sudenly become vehement supporters of disabled rights?
