Saudi Arabia's first all-female rock band

Hey everyone, I just read a really great article about some young women who have started up a band in Jidda, Saudi Arabia called the Accolade. Even though they cant take pictures for album covers or play publicly due to how overwhelmingly conservative their country is, they still play secret shows and even have an underground hit "Pinocchio" which you can download on the bands MySpace page. You can check out this link to read the article which includes a bit of an interview with the bands founder.

Awesome! It's always great to see (well, hear) girls rocking out.

That's so fantastic and the song rocks too! I sent them a friend request from my band.

This is ace! can't download the song tough, probably just me being useless with the new myspace player thingy.

But I wish they hadn't said 'refused to artificially inseminate a lesbian undergoing fertility treatment' but instead used the wording 'inseminate a WOMAN under going fertility treatment, because of her sexuality' or, 'a lesbian woman undergoing etc.'. It's like if they were discriminating against her because she came from latin america, or if she were a muslim, hopefully it wouldn't read 'refused to inseminate a muslim/latina' instead of 'muslim woman/latina woman' or simply 'woman'. I always tend to take issue with the way articles bedroom furniture about women's rights are worded, because they so often use wording that disrespects women as individuals.
