I checked out the videos, one of the links on the homepage of the website, and the "Student's Guide to Feminism", and all of it makes me sick. I couldn't read half of it because I was getting so angry. I wanted to write to "Angry Harry" (and, in fact, everyone who contributes to that site) and tell him exactly why he is purporting the view that feminists are bad, are not actually fighting for equality, are spreading lies about men, and are all man-haters. This goes for the guys on the first page too, particularly the one who made the "Anti-Feminism" videos. But I'm just so angry right now that I would come out sounding like the women who wrote from Oxford and didn't provide any sort of argument in their e-mails (except for the first woman, who he completely disregarded based on where she was from.)

I honestly don't know where these guys get off saying that the fact that 1 in 4 women will be raped in their lifetimes is a lie. Or that almost half of all rape cases that go to trial are false accusations, and therefore feminists are somehow to blame. But this is what we're up against, and I say that any woman on Feministing who has an hour or so should take a peek around the site, read some of the drivel they're spewing, and then tell them exactly what is wrong or false with what they've written.

I agree with Liz - take some time to look around both the "MensNewsDaily" and the "Angry Harry" websites and then write in to tell them why they are absolutely wrong. (I need to calm down before I write an email because I am so disturbed; I need to compose my thoughts first.)

Just watched that problems with feminism vid and I gotta sat I 'love' the argument that "feminist are man-haters, or at least all the leaders are" and then they go on to quote some of the leaders of feminist movements, some of who are quite radical, from an older time with a different zeitgeist, taken out of context, or any combination of the three.

It pisses me off because if they would just stop spouting for a moment and listen, you could totally flip that around and it would be highly damning of society/patriarchy. Hell you could get enough quotes from the Bible alone as a leader/influence on society that has horrifically anti-woman comments and rules in them.

I had,unfortunately, stumbled upon this Angry Harry website before and it made me so horribly upset and depressed that I WANTED to become a feminazi... instead of the progressive feminist that I am who believes in the equality of the sexes. If this is truly what men think about women, then it's proof that women are the superior sex.
But I reassured myself by finding renewed evidence of the many, many, many men out there (I HOPE a majority) who believe in women's rights and the equality of the sexes as much as we do.
The Angy Harry site is run by mascunazis who don't even try to post the truth about anything. It's full of blatant lies and pure fiction. I considered writing to them, but was quite, quite sure that it wouldn't do any good. These people are truly vile and disgusting... the worst of the worst.
I'm sure they've never come anywhere close to a real woman. That's why they are so full of venom.

I didn't go to the site itself, but if they are really claiming that the stat 1 in 4 women is a lie, and that half of all rape trials are false accusations... why?
Are they trying to pretend that women AREN'T raped? That men DON'T rape women? That men are the victims? This sounds very delusional to me. I imagine that if these men took the time to speak to the women in their lives, they would find that yes, many have probably been raped, and that even more have been sexually harrassed, assaulted, or threatened in some way by a man- including lewd catcalls and things like that. Of course these things happen. What on earth is there to gain by pretending that they DON'T? Do they really believe that 'us women' are making this shit up for fun? They sound very sheltered.

The what in their huh now? Aside from their Moms, who probably feel obligated, I can't imagine any women who would willingly choose to be in these men's lives any longer than it takes for him to stuff a dollar in a g-string (the only contact they've probably ever had with an actual female.)

Some people are just morons and there's nothing you can do about it. I don't think that writing anything to anyone on this site would change their minds about anything. And really, being bothered by this is sort of exactly what they're looking for. Idiocy like this should be laughed at and dismissed, not taken seriously.

I would *NOT* write them. I've dealt with online people like this before and they thrive off of the attention. If eventually they figure out that they don't have the ability to make feminists angry with their websites, their websites will probably die off. They LOVE it when they make anyone angry enough to write to them. You would DEFINITELY be fueling the fire.

These people used to make me angry too, but I try not to let them have the power to make me angry anymore. Many of them probably do have psychological or social problems, so I don't think you should interpret their websites as anything significant. I don't think rabid anti-feminists are becoming a trend. There are always going to be extreme, crazy people like this, and unfortunately the internet helps them find each other.

But feminist websites far outnumber these websites, so don't be too upset. :) These people are extreme outliers and get more attention than they deserve just because they are so crazy. :)

I looked at one article titled "Daughters Linked to Prostate Risk". It's another way of demonizing women-- "If you have a daughter, you'll get cancer, guys! Watch out!!!!"

It makes me frightened-- if the men who read this DO have daughters... Do they hate them so much that they have to blame them for every thing that goes wrong in their lives? It very sad.

When people get into a huff about men's rights, they are usually upset about men losing rights to subordinate women, make more money than them, etc.

The sad thing the men who made the site probably have convinced themselves that they actually are being victimized.

I am late on this post. I agree, don't waste your time writing to these idiots. It just fuels their fire. These misogynistic, right-wing pundits, are just a joke. Don't try to reason with unreasonable people because its futile. If I ever came across any of those fools, I would point my finger and laugh.

You have to realise how people see feminism. Feminism is fine when done right, but there are so many bad feminists in every day society that it turns you off the whole feminist agenda. Which is why Im not a feminist.

So many women feel that being a house wife is demeaning, and that they should be at work instead. So many men have been given filthy looks cause they held a door open for a woman. So many girls keep complaining about how the patriarchy is holding them down, when in fact they get more job opportunities (Affirmative Action), they're more likely to get the kids in a court case, they have the ultimate decision over an unborn child (god forbid the man wants to keep it if the woman doesn't), society basically caters to us women.

Hell the word FEMINIST focuses on women, what about the men?

Ive recently began to believe if feminists are really for men and women to be equal, they fight JUST as hard for mens rights, from that angle. I once asked a feminist what about little boys in school (they statistically get lower grades) she told me that feminists cant focus on that over girls that need them. I was very disgusted.

Yes there are GREAT feminists out there, but the bad ones ruin it for the good ones.
