These are often the blogs that make light of domestic violence, that construct elaborate apologias for rapists and trot out the vicious rape-victims-are-liars tropes. These are the sites blindly wedded to sociologically-inept arguments for gender essentialism. These are the sites that are so smugly confident in their bloggers'(non-existent) powers of logic, and so doggedly oblivious to the authors' own privilege that our collective humanist/egalitarian stomach turns.
But sometimes, anti-feminism can be so wide-eyed, so wholesome, so EARNEST, that it brings warmth and cheer to the wintry hearts of even the unfunniest, French-theory-quoting, man-hating "lesbo"/whore feminazis:

I was clicking around there, and checked out the modest swimwear site. It includes a slimming options. What? These swimsuits are supposed to draw attention away from the wearer's body and towards the face, and this is all about NOT conforming to what the secular world tells us we should look like, right? My guess is that it's for women who still don't hate themselves quite enough: "You have no use except as a fetus-incubator, if your husband beats you it's your own fault, and you are suspected of witchcraft. Oh, and you're fat."

Perusing that "jesus saves" site is like being a kid in a candy store. Each line is better than the next.
This is liberating for me because usually anti-humanist material makes me spitting mad/repulsed. But with this site, I keep guffawing aloud. I'm actually going to bookmark it so I can read a choice quote every now and then when I'm feeling blue.
(On a serious note: love how the site's titled "Jesus Saves" but is entirely devoted to gender issues. Nothing about Jesus' Law of Love, his instructions to wash others' feet, or the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Basically, nothing about theology.)
My favorite line might have to be "A feminine woman makes a man feel like a real man because she requires his masculinity, strength, and courage. Methinks that if you need a DEGREE in motherhood, it's probably not in the best interest of either yourself or the potential child to procreate. (Not that motherhood is instinctual, or that you can't learn tips on how to be a BETTER parent...just the notion of having a piece of paper dictating you fit to parent is ludicrous on its face...)

I was even more surprised to see from her picture on the left that she is a black woman. I'm not sure if her support for slavery constitutes internalised racism or not, but either way, I can't help feeling damn sorry for her kids. I got to her site the first time from a link to a post about her daughter, who she calls a 'wretched little girl'.
I was shocked by that as well.

Wow. What "Christian" group brainwashed her? I've attended fundamentalist sermons before (unfortunately) - but never heard that slavery was OK or that you should browbeat your children.
That poor little girl. The woman writes that when her four-year-old disobeys or teases her brother it's because of "sin" and not because, you know, she's four. She also seems to believe that her four-year-old has had a huge spiritual revelation because she's in tears over her mom telling her Jesus isn't in her heart. Or, just maybe, she's been terrorized by her mom telling her she's wretched and a sinner no matter what. It's strange that she considers her child to be too young to be capable of accepting Jesus but not too young to be expected to behave perfectly and with an adult's understanding every second of the day.
Honestly, I feel a little bad for the blogger, too. It's obvious from the first post that she's got some serious self-hate issues.
Someone should let the street "preacher" know that it was not 250,000, but over 1 million of us smelling up DC with our whoredom and rebellion.

I'm still trying to calm down. The fact that many men agree with what this article says is really what has me trembling with fury at the moment. Don't misunderstand me, I have nothing against mothering, or family values, but they are choices, and only one of many choices a woman should be entitled to make in this world. We weren't put on this earth to "serve" men. Unless you take what the bible says literally. Ugghh.

What's kind of hilarious is that he has NO IDEA who this woman is or what her circumstances are - he just assumes she's his ideal of a feminine, innocent mother because she's pretty. She could be a single mom. She could work from home or work nights and just happen to have days free - just because she's in the park and not an office doesn't mean she doesn't work. Or is married or any of the other stuff he said. (Also, LOL - the GOVERNMENT forces women to work, apparently.) Hey, she could have days free to be with her kids because she's a stripper by night! I doubt he'd be all about giving her affirmation then.
I think "a young woman's charm is her capital" says it all. Not intelligence, not diligence, not talent, not even morals. Charm. And notice the emphasis on "YOUNG woman." What's an older woman's capital? Can she get an education once she's past her antifeminist expiration date (which I'm guessing is probably about 25)? And what about her beauty reflecting her innocence? What about young women who aren't beautiful? Does that automatically reflect their depravity in true fairy-tale fashion, or do unattractive women just not count?
These guys are really all about controlling women. She MUST do this, she MUST do that - oh, but it's in her own interest because otherwise her natural instincts will be frustrated and she'll be miserable and alone. Pay no attention to all the happy, fulfilled women out there who choose to have their own life! Increasingly, I think these guys are incapable of having a normal relationship with a woman who has the agency to opt out, thus this list of things that women MUST do to win the right to be their broodmare. You must not have had sex with any other man, so you cannot find me lacking by comparison. You must not have a career, so you cannot be more successful than I am or think I don't make enough money. Do you ever notice that these stories anti-feminists tell always make a point of showing them complimenting and treating chivalrously the women (fictional or not) who conform to their ideals? Like, "See, we're not assholes, as long as you behave. See how sweet and loving we are and how much we actually ADORE women? You too could be showered with compliments and adoration like this, if you would just submit." Bragh! They also seem oblivious to the fact that there are plenty of nice, normal (feminist!) men who treat women nice too, and are actually able to handle them having brains and ideas and - oh no! - experience.

Phoebe was a leader in the Roman church, and the first person to witness the risen Christ is a woman, in all four canonical gospels.

Have you ever read the book of Genesis, of the Old Testament? In it there is a story about a man named Lot who was seduced by his very own daughters. Yes, these temptatious little girls actually tricked their own father into having sex with them.
Blaming women for our world’s ills is a recurring theme throughout the bible. Ever since Eve forced innocent little Adam into eating that Damn apple, women have had hell to pay! And this is still the dominant mode of thought among the majority of Bible-thumping Americans. It is a wonder that we have laws against statutory rape at all.
I will never really be able to understand how anyone could believe that a 12 year old little girl is really responsible for tricking an adult man into letting her perform oral sex on him!

I am new to the world of ant-feminism-as-fun; I'll admit to being entirely too attuned to the perniciousness of pop culture/media to allow most anti-feminism around me to pass unchallenged. However, the sites I offered above are just so un-self-consciously ridiculous, I think I've been inducted into your sorority of appreciation.
But the iwf site seems very serious and policy-oriented--i.e. the type of stuff to which we would post serious rebuttals here, and that would produce genuine feminist outrage. So far it hasn't warmed my heart the way that "Jesus Saves"' minor-key theme music and inept web design has.
