Feminist around the St Louis area?
Are there any feminists in the St Louis or surrounding area that want to get together? The small town I live in is literally chipping away at my soul everyday. I just need the reinforcement that there are other feminist that I can relate with.

I'm from St. Louis too!
yes! we're here! we should have a feministing meet up sometime!
I'm in Jacksonville IL... I live in Springfield IL... But my schedule! I would love to meet new people, but I would need to schedule in advance!
This is great! the best time for me to meet is on the weekends; I have night classes m-thur. I would really like to get together with everyone in the near future! I'm an hour south, so somebody pick a place and time and I'll be there!!
I live in the alton, Il area. We should have a get together.
Is anyone interested in Venice Cafe Friday the 21 for a meet and greet?
I know not everyone can make it, but I work at the Missouri History Museum and have put together a great program on Thursday, March 19. At 7:00pm, we'll watch the documentary "I Was a Teenage Feminist," and then we'll break out into round table discussions to talk about feminism today and our own experiences. We'll have light refreshments available, and there will be a door prize! The event is totally free, and you can check it out here: http://mohistory.org/education-and-events/events/2251
Hope some of you can join us!
Hi everyone. I actually just went to the screening that Emily mentioned above last night, and it reminded me how much I love feminist discourse, and how much I miss having it on a daily basis. Did this group ever get together? Either way, anyone up for another one?
Hi, I know that this post has been up for a while, but I'm also a feminist in the STL area, and part of a feminist group here. I wanted to let you know that if you're interested, this week is Sexual Assault Awareness Week on the Washington University campus. If you want more information about events, check out http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=63478397702.
How accomplished a woman (girl in this case?) might be, she can be reduced to a mere sexual object at the hands of any man.
More disturbingly, though, I shudder at the thoughts of men equating love with violence. Duct tape, guns and love letters? Who the hell brings that on a date? This could be just a random case of a crazy fuck obsessing over a conventionally beautiful young woman, or perhaps it's a reflection of how society has taught bedroom furniture men that misogyny and violence against women are all a part of love.
