JetBlues: Another Instance of Harassment
Via the Sydney Morning Herald.
According to the article, flight attendant Karin Keegan, 37, was denied entry to a flight she was working on because her outfit was not "provacative enough," and is now suing Delta and JetBlue.
Says the lawsuit,
Keegan changed into more provocative clothes, but (the employee) told her she was too late to board the plane and should have dressed like that before.
Just wanted to bring this story to light, amidst our celebration of repro rights this week.

Do we need any *more* confirmation that the constant sexualization of women leads us to have fewer choices in employment?? This is happening everywhere. I hope she wins her case. I'm sure she will. But for every victory, there are another ten companies insisting women be "well-groomed" as a code expression for "looking sexually available to drum up extra business because it's part of your job."
Oh, wait, but JetBlue is not just an airline! No, see, they're an entertainment venue: they provide snacks, movies, drinks, nice views (if you know what I mean). This is all just some silly misunderstanding.
