More tasty morsels from Ann Coulters foot-mouth

Basically single mothers have babies with multiple fathers to get all those privileges...

Props to Elizabeth Hasselbeck for asking "what about the fathers?"

(I searched for the transcript and couldn't find one)

Ann Coulter is like an internet troll -- if you ignore it, it will fade away into obscurity. The best way to make her shut up is to ignore the ever living shit out of her. Just take her off of every network with sense and she'll just float away.

Every word she speaks is irony because she's so "anti-feminist" but then she doesn't even stop to think that feminism is what ALLOWS her to even write books and go on TV shows and spew her crap in the first place.

God what a hostile crowd. I don't think anyone would look good with a setting that hostile.

I agree, any points that Coulter person could have had, or any possibility of learning something new from an alternative angle -irrespective of what one thinks about her opinions - were completely perverted, turning the event into a public stoning.

She felt attacked, her guard went up, her capacity for arguing and putting across a point diminished, therefore the worth of the 'debate' dissipated. Basically bad television presenting.

And just for the record, yes i think Coulter is a complete shit.

Whoopi hit the nail on the head -- "You can dish it out, but you can't take it." That's Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin, and all their conservative cry-baby friends in a nut shell.

Wow, even Elizabeth Hasselbeck is calling her on shit!

Yeah, if Elizabeth doesn't like a conservative, wow. I don't know what she's trying to argue about Obama and Halle Barry but don't really care. And what happened to that 20% (30%?) of the prison population that didn't grow up with a single mother? That's a minority but not a tiny one.

I wonder what the numbers would be (percent of inmates raised by single mothers) if you controlled for socioeconomic status and education (both of the mother and of the children). It seems pretty obvious that you would probably find that the majority of criminals come from poor backgrounds (and neighborhoods) and there is a bigger correlation between poverty and crime (than between single motherhood and crime).

The first analogy I can think of, is let's say most car crashes happen between 11pm and 3am. Someone could say that it is especially dark at that time, so it is the darkness that causes the crashes. But then we are forgetting that there would be a lot more drunk drivers between those hours, and so that could be the major cause, and darkness may hardly be a factor!

The other mention from Coulter was that the number of single mothers had gone up 300%... Anyone else think that a larger number of children who grew up that way would also turn into a larger number of prisoners? There are simply more children growing up that way than there had been... It seems like she ignores cause and effect unless it shows what she wants it to.

Imagin at one time or another she kissed her mother with that fithy shit hole she calls a mouth.

I wanted to address this since this cropped up as an edit to the page recently. Feministing is avaliable to everyone and is read widely by young & old, women & men, and liberal & conservative. However, the target audience of Feministing is young progressive women. There are some posts about other groups of people, and different voices are welcome, but that is the target bedroom furniture audience. Thanks!

Thanks for the info.
