I've read "He's a stud and she's a slut..." recently and I couldn't help but notice Jessica forgot one big double standard, that when men have blonde hair there is no degrading personality type associated with it. But when a woman has blonde hair, people crack jokes about how stupid she is because her hair is yellow. I even have a friend who is a natural blonde who believes she's stupid for this reason. A lot of blonde women are portrayed as bimbo's by the media Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson etc, all you have to do is act dizty and be attractive for them to make you out as an idiot. At least with have Pink. I have a dream that one day a woman will not be judged on the color of her hair but on the content of her character.

Well, not that this makes it any better, but I have seen a lot of comedy type things where a blonde man is portrayed as the "big dumb hunk" or "flaky slacker/stoner dude" character clche.
But obviously hair color is not a reflection of intelligence. I see the "dumb blonde" thing for women as an extension of the whole dichotimous notion that women are "either/or", when it comes to attractiveness in the media. They are portrayed as pretty but vapid, or smart and plain. And blondeness is often seen as synonymous with attractiveness (no matter what the face and body under the hair look like) and also "goodness". When a woman is portrayed as attractive AND competent, she is often given dark hair, and also made out to be the "vamp" or some other type of villain.
And redheads can go either way, but they must almost always be protrayed as "fiery" and tempermental.
But the dumb blonde male is not nearly as common/popular/prevalent as the dumb blonde chick and that's what I'm trying to say.
lol @ rustyspoons' name
Also with red hair. Women with red hair are stereotyped as angry. I have never seen any sort of stereotype about redheaded men.
