I just signed into Yahoo this morning and saw an article about Kanye West's Vh1 "Storytellers" show that is airing soon. In the article it talks about how they had to cut certain parts of the footage from the final edit including this quote from Kanye:
"Can't we give Chris a break? ... I know I make mistakes in life."
Yes, I agree we all make mistakes. But what mistakes in Kanye's life is he exactly comparing to physically assaulting one's partner? And what kind of break does he want Chris to get? Is he saying that he wants the media to just back off a bit? Or that he doesn't think Chris should be prosecuted for his crime?

I hate the word "mistake" when it is used in relation to domestic violence. He didn't make a "mistake", he made a conscious choice. A choice to attempt to control through physical violence. I really hate the word "mistake" because abusers already have enough issues with the ability to take responsibility for their actions. It is a minimizing word when used like this. If he had raped somebody would we also be talking about how he "made a mistake"?
I agree with this. Plus why should he get a "break"? I'd support a conscientious effort to change his attitudes, probably through a mix of self-examination and behavioral therapy, but all I see right now is someone who acted sorry to the media(sort of) and was rewarded by the woman he assaulted allegedly coming back (at least as of today's papers).
This comment just really angered me. Not only during this whole thing was Kanye West just so full of himself (like usual) but he was basically excusing domestic violence. What it sounded like IMO was that Kanye didn't think Brown should be punished for his actions at all. Not by the media, the public or the police.
And I hate when people use the term "mistake" when describing a horribly violent crime. It's like WTF?
"Mistake"?
Parking in a No Parking Zone = "mistake"
Taking your neighbor's paper because the delivery person didn't bring yours = "mistake"
Eating the last drumstick even though you know your partner loves dark meat = "mistake"
[Allegedly] punching your partner in the face and choking her into unconsciousness = [alleged] FELONY
Get it right, Kanye!
I agree with susanstohelit. I'd be freaked if the VagCamera started focusing on a book. That would just be distracting - it's not a leap to imagine the Vag seeing underwear, toilets, and showers. It is to imagine it enjoying some Tolstoy.
Also, the sound effect of shaving didn't bother me too much, I barely noticed it, and it bedroom furniture sounds like...shaving. If it sounded like bells or whistles I'd be disturbed.
