Feminist web host?
Hi everyone, I'm coming up on graduation and looking to buy a domain name for myself. Nothing fancy, just firstnamelastname.com to host my resume and a couple of clips.
Now, it will be a cold day in hell before I spend my money at Go Daddy, and I was thinking about just using Google but wondered if anyone knew of a feminist alternative I could support. I am willing to pay a little more for the space if I know the site is doing good things.
I checked out ThinkHost , which looked promising, but a couple of reviews said it was sketchy.
Advice please? And thanks in advance!

So funny that you posted this today, because I'm in the exact same dilemma and was about to ask the community about domains and web hosting myself!
I've been looking at http://www.drak.net/ but I'm not sure how to make sure I'm getting the best deal for the casual needs I have while still supporting a company I feel I can get behind.
I also looked at Google, but it looks like they're affiliated with Go Daddy according to this article.
You know, I definitely wouldn't have a problem using a neutral site, in absence of a reliable feminist one, but it's just so frustrating when the entire category is dominated by one company like Go Daddy.
I don't know how they rank on the feminist scale, but Register.com is an option.
PS: I also found this list of domain name registrars. GoDaddy may be one of the most well-known names, but it doesn't look like they're fully dominating the category. Hopefully one of these will fit your requirements.
