I'd like to give a huge feminist fuck yeah to my girlfriend, Jenn. She has been the biggest inspiration for me and other people in the feminist community around her. She has done everything from blogging for SAFER to being one of the prime catalysts in reforming her university's sexual assault policy.
Recently, she was the main push to create open conversations in lecture halls about the schools sexual assault and rape policy, branching out to every student and faculty member to get them involved. Last night she brought life to the university's lame attempt for a Take Back the Night event. Not only did she get people from out of state to come, but she improvised an energetic and inspiring speech for the event. She also made a TBTN shirt for our dog who also walked over the bridge with us!
I can go on forever about how awesome she is, but I'll stop and conclude. Jenn is the best feminist I know, I am so happy that she is recognized for something she is so passionate about. I want everyone to know that she is an inspirational feminist and I love her.

That's awesome!
My friday feminist fuck yeah goes out to men who are awesome allies in feminism!
this post makes me smile. :)
me too! you're both lucky to have each other
aw man, this is awesome. yay for feminists, allies, and activism! whee!
This is a WAY cooler public declaration of love than proposing over the Jumbotron at a baseball game :)
::sigh:: if only I knew guys like you who could appreciate the fact that I'm a feminist.
I know! They're out there. There's gotta be more than a handful :)
I love this! Way to go Jenn! And I know that the poster is "manfem"... but let's not jump to heterosexist conclusions about Jenn's partner's gender, please? :)
em, that's a joke yeah?
Nah, I think it's pretty important not to assume all women date men. But maybe that's just me.
"But maybe that's just me."
Good point, chances are that you're the only poster on feministing that is aware of the trappings of heteronormativity. I think when the poster's name is "manfem" we should be able to make assumptions about gender without getting pulled up.
Hey, the person's username is "manfem" - I would think that "manfem" is a Man who is a Feminist, otherwise why would he use that as a screenname?
But even you acknowledged that the username pretty much gave away the poster's gender. Until I saw the poster's name, I actually assumed it was written by a women.
So, if we're accusing people of making assumptions, stop assuming all people who appreciate feminist activism are women.
Cute!
warm fuzzy feelingssss. adorable.
Damn. That is one awesome feminist you're dating. And she obviously is dating an awesome feminist as well.
oh my god this was the best gift ever... i was really feeling down because i have been trying to hard to rally students on campus to bring attention to sexual assault, and our school held a tbtn event that was so sad... but friends and i tried to make it the best that could be.... and to have my boyfriend, a feminist and all, write this for me was the sweetest thing ever! sometimes feministing around town gets hard, and it has its ups and downs and although i was down in the dumps today i am on a feminist high now! thanks for posting this! -jenn
This post made me a little teary-eyed. It's very beautiful.
I'm sorry, but I really wish my bf had an ounce of this kind of appreciation/support for the stuff I do as a feminist.
Good post, dude! It's nice to see you've and your girlfriend have found feminist love. Heh, and they say feminists don't know how to love. :D
On another note: consider nominating her for the "Real Hot 100." From the looks of it, she's pretty damn deserving of such titles.
Marc
i liked your post, manfem, but can we all try to cut out the ableist language ("lame")?
And the PC police squad car comes screeching onto the scene!
Sigh. You're really going to use the phrase "PC police" on a feminist website? I didn't think that phrase was used outside of Fox News.
