Backlash on the Web
I came across this thread today over an obviously sexist Burger King ad and was reminded of the depths of anti-feminist sentiment still present today. The comments ironically deny the existence/importance of sexism while highlighting the attitudes and obstacles feminists struggle against. Eek. Photo here

That's probably one of the more heinous BK ads I've seen and I've seen plenty of disgusting ones. BK, Carl's Jr., and Arby's all seem to be making a play for that young and horny male demographic. In fact, Carl's Jr. outright admitted that this is the target audience they're going after. And it makes sense -- college-age guys tend to be less concerned with health and meat-eating is still more acceptable for men than it is for women. I think ads such as this just go to show the desperation of fast food as they become increasingly more vilified by health advocates.
