"Fox will not air Family Guy abortion episode according statement from network."
Now, I absolutely love Family Guy. However, analyzing the contents of Family Guy, Fox couldn't have come shorter from the racist sexist channel it is. Family Guy has a pedophile/rapist Quagmire, a pedophile, a child who is abusive, manipulative and wants to kill his mother, an inattentive, selfish and maybe alcoholic father, a daughter who is ridiculed and the only time she is respected is when she becomes an object (as a blonde singer), but will not air an episode on abortion.
I find it disturbing that pedophilia, rape, and violence are all acceptable and not controversial subjects, but abortion is according to the network.

how can they have that famous "prom night dumpster baby" episode, and an abortion is somehow too harsh?
My understanding is that the episode will be from a pro-life perspective. Simply because it was avoided by the network merely means it was controversial in its content -- not in its perspective on that content.

Just curious, where did you find that out? Everything I've read on it just said there would be an abortion episode, Fox wouldn't air it, but didn't divulge anything about what the plot would actually be, much less whether it would be pro or anti choice.

"There were few details offered about the content of the episode, but [...] it's unlikely Planned Parenthood would use the episode in a PSA anytime soon."
I took that to mean that the position taken by the episode would be contrary to that of Planned Parenthood.

Oh, I just took that to mean that it would probably be crass (as with the example of the McCain button on the Nazi's uniform) and wouldn't contain the level of sensitivity you'd expect from a PSA.
It's still a network and has to set some (albeit arbitrary) standards. I mean, they also allowed for an episode to be shown, after syndication, that directly implied that McCain/Palin was supported by Nazis.
The show's nothing if not edgy. I enjoy it, but sometimes it crossed my lines (see example above).
