Stealing property and money, targeting minorities, searching records without warrants - these are just some of the things that investigators discovered as they've continued their investigation of the Metro Gang Strike Force .
How many times do we have to hear about corrupt police officers, using their power and status to take advantage of people and situations before it is taken seriously? I hope these people go to prison for everything they have done. I do find it somewhat ironic that this came out one day after the video of Minneapolis police officers beating someone up at a traffic stop . Apparently, the video was known about for some time, but now that it is finally public, the FBI is being called in to investigate. They'll have their hands full in Minnesota...

Hmm. I'm in Minnesota and I haven't even heard mention of the Strike Force targeting minorities in the news reports on NPR. All they ever mention is the cops taking cars and money (and I can just imagine other radio listeners going, "Whoopee, who cares, the no-good gangsters and criminals deserved to have their shit stolen, etc.").
So. I don't know what's the deal.
