Burqa and Bikini

I wrote a new 10 minute stage play, called Burqa and Bikini ... I would love it if some of you guys can check it out... I like to think of it as a very feminist play...

if anyone of you live in London, England or are planning to be in London from late September to early October, you should come see my play, HOW THE RAPIST WAS BORN, to be seen at Tristan Bates Theatre, in Covent Garden from September 28th to October 17th, 2009.

thanks for reading. cheers.

There are many good points presented here, but as the themes of a play they are given too directly.

I would much prefer a play that teaches such ideas through example, rather than having the characters describe their viewpoints.
If you want women to be strong and independent, then write a play with a female character who is (or better yet BECOMES) strong and independent, but never let anyone utter the words "You/women/girls should be strong and independent" or any variation. People watching will be influenced to follow the example, but won't feel preached to. It would give the impression that strong, independent women simply what are, and not simply just a good idea.

This play is more like a discussion than a narrative. In some places the flow of conversation seemed unnatural as the various points are pushed through. Just because it has the fantasy element of statues coming to life means that the conversation can be made to fit the points you want to make, rather than what would actually happen between two such characters.

Not to say it's no good, despite these criticisms I like it, but personally I would prefer to focus more on the narrative than the message.
