Another teen girl set to break record
A few months ago we saw this girl set a record for a cross-country flight. Now an Australian teen wants to become the youngest person to sail alone unassisted around the world (no outside food/repairs help!). I love it how calm and confident she looks in this photo:

I hope she makes it!

That's fantastic! It's awesome to see someone so young living their dreams. Inspires me :)
unlikely since her first attempt ended in the harbour.
We had a major debate here in Holland because a thirteen (now fourteen) year old wanted to do the same.
Her parents supported her, but she's been put under supervision of child protection services.
I feel extremely torn on the issue: on the one hand I really want her to live her dreams. On the other, I don't think a fourteen year old should be sailing the world on her (or his) own.
I don't doubt her technical capacities with regard to sailing, I distrust the rest of the world.
