The fight for marriage equality is gearing up in two states this fall, Maine and New Jersey.

Maine's legislator and governor recently passed a law legalizing marriage equality is a legal right for all residents, regardless of sexual orientation. Unfortunately, the anti-equality forces were able to place an initiative on the ballot that would reject this law. Maine's No on 1 campaign is fighting by raising money and seeking volunteers to talk to voters about why they should vote against this Question. New Jersey's situation is different. The state offers civil unions to GLBT couples, but as we all know that's not the same as marriage. So advocates are campaigning to have elected officials pass a marriage equality law this fall. If you live in New Jersey, please contact your representatives asking them to vote for marriage equality. Even if you don't, you can still help by donating to the campaign here.
