Does size matter?
With all these posts about brains and gender I thought I would post this list on I.Q. and cranial mass and brain size...
The first four are sites that are pretty straight forward and there is more out there on perception shaping results...
The fourth entry is about that even when a women is hired in a blind interview that she may still have the rug pulled out from under her when people find out it's not swinging a dick.
The last post is a favorite book fiction but with good insight on the topic.

thanks for sharing! the links were very informative.
it's so disappointing ti hear some female classmates in med school who are themselves of a science background say that there's nothing wrong with saying there may be an "innate" reason for women's interest in the sciences. they think it's mere "political correctness" to not support baseless sexist remarks.
I left a comment below that discussed a female guidance counselor telling me my I.Q. was ten points lower than the I.Q. test results in front of her said I was. Women can be just as bad as men.
I have a small head, which means I must have a small brain, which according to those articles means that I am not as intelligent as I would be if I had a larger brain; which in conclusion means that I am intellectually deficient. No wonder I've been having such trouble remembering things, and trying to tap into my creative side lately. I'm going to go go chow down some chocolate bars now. At least there's still chocolate.
When I said I have a small head, I meant it's pretty small for my frame as well. I wear children's size glasses.
A neurologist friend told me women have 15% more neurons and men have 15% more myelin (insulation). So men's brains take up more space but have fewer brain cells.
So saying men have bigger brains than women is like saying an army of 100 is bigger than an army of 115 just because the army of 100 is standing a bit further apart and wearing bulkier uniforms.
And to beat that analogy a bit more, nicer uniforms or 15 extra men, the better army is the one with most training, whose men work the best together.
Great analogy!!!
Well if I do understand the sites they are really saying that there is only a “.40” correlation…which I take to mean that there is only a 40% correlation which isn’t even a fifty- fifty chance of brain or cranial size equating with I.Q..
Meaning that only in forty percent of the cases studied does large head or brain produce a “large” I.Q. .
Plus the sites are pretty clear on the influence of other factors like racism and sexism and diet and other environmental issues.
One site says that the skulls if preschool black children are larger than those of whites but that they are perceived as “stupid” or less smart then and by their piers…
The site about the female candidate for a music director job; the women who auditioned behind a scrim/screen and was hired based on this .The site where only after it was made known that the person conducting the orchestra was female did the musicians the very same ones who played during her audition almost quit that was proof of bigotry effecting test scores. She passed the test until they knew she was not a “he”.
And one site doesn’t put white men on top it starts with Mongoloids/Asians at the pinnacle. And I’ve seen others stories which discus the idea of I.Q. via great societies cutting across all ethnic groups.
And the book though written by a male has an interracial woman who is very smart though preserved otherwise .And only because her father is a rich white man.
And the book points out that scientists started to down play the size correlation when they happened upon the Inuit because the Inuit have huge skulls and the scientists only wanted to exploit them so they had to say they were too stupid to look out for themselves in effect.
So while depressing remember scientist do not have many test subjects for actual brain measure to begin with…
And finally I will and that all this reminds me of my middle school guidance counselor seeing two standardized I.Q. test scores of mine within one point of each other and lying to me telling me my I.Q was ten points lower than both tests said it was. So until I found out the truth almost twenty years later I acted the I.Q. she said I had. And I hear this happens all the time.
So please don’t get upset about a “small” skull my intent was to say that there is no real correlation what so ever according to these sites!!!
