Facebook Group: “Become a fan” of “Not Getting Raped By A Huge Black Guy.”
I wish I were kidding.
I would like as many people as possible to report this group. Not only is this page racist by implying that large black men are an instant threat to people, but it also makes a joke out of rape – which is NEVER a laughing matter.
They also use Mark Henry’s photograph to represent the group (most likely without his permission). He is a wrestler in the WWE for those who don’t know, and as far as I know, he is NOT guilty of rape.
Please send the message to all the 40,000 thoughtless followers that this type of group, along with the disgusting comments in the “Just Fans” section, is NOT acceptable.
Let’s see if we can actually get Facebook to take this group down. I believe in free speech, but not when it becomes hate speech.

I have so little faith in humanity at this moment it isn't even funny. Not only did I report the page to facebook but I am also going to be sending a letter to Mr. Henry informing him of this violation of his privacy and deformation of his character.

Most of the kids in the group look like they're 14 or 15.. I'm sure they don't really think that critically about it -- which is really too bad, but sadly typical of teenagers these days.
Unfortunately, I found out about it because my 14 YO sister joined. But she has since un-joined after reading about my qualms with it, and realizing that it's not a laughing matter...

I might be wrong, but I think you can't message all of the people in a group without joining the group first, which you probably don't want to do. Gonna have to stick with the report button.
Ok, so try as I might, I could not find this group-- so either it got reported enough, and in that case, WAHOO! If not, can someone post a link right to the group so I can also report it?? Thanks!
I couldn't find the group, either, which may mean something came out of reporting it. What is disheartening, however, is that seaching for the phrase "not getting raped" on Facebook pulls up a couple of other pages and groups who take a similarly lighthearted (and obviously inappropriate) approach to rape.
That bothered me too....we should just report them all! Just because a group only has 400 people versus 40,000 doesn't make it any less offensive and/or inappropriate!
Important Update: I think they took the group down because the link just goes to the Facebook homepage now, and I couldn't find it when I search for it! Victory!!! Thanks to EVERYONE who participated!!!
Alas, there are other groups out there that turn rape and racism into a joke. Please comment if you have links to any more and I will definitely report them.
