Reclaiming our bodies!

Queer men and heterosexual woman are the highest rates when researching eating disorders (not to say other identities or individuals do not suffer through this) to the point, Ideals of beauty in our society has attained such dire expectations that people are in reality dying just to obtain something we were never meant or can acquire. When we look for acceptance we look all around us and see our identities and how they are portrayed and socially constructed in media and society – of how we “should” look. We can’t all look the same, we were never meant to and why do we want to? This unattainable beauty has always been another way to control woman to fit an ideal way that men want or desire you to look like and it has been an effective method of control – how can you fight external factors when there is an ongoing and everyday battle internally.
True beauty comes from our diversity which is also our greatest strength because infinite diversity an infinite way creates infinite possibilities.
